About Rainford and Ormskirk Vocal Academy

Rainford Vocal Academy was established by experienced vocal coach Katie Ellen in 2014. Her aim was to create an academy in the centre of the community that would give students a chance to develop in confidence whilst gaining recognised qualifications.  Since then, Rainford Vocal Academy has developed and a second location added in Ormskirk, opening the doors to another community.

About Katie

"I love all things to do with the voice and I have made it my mission to pass on this enthusiasm to the next generation of vocalists.  I hope to educate and inspire young and more experienced vocalists to look past the '15 minutes of fame' of todays society and gain meaningful qualifications and experience.'

Zara Holme

From a young age I have had a passion for performing arts, especially musical theatre. At the age of 11, I attended private singing lessons with Katie and since then I have successfully completed all grades up to grade 7. I have just finished studying at the Professional Performance Programme at Runshaw College, studying L3 Musical Theatre where I developed my singing, dancing and acting technique, achieving a distinction overall. Although I have performed in many shows, my greatest achievement was playing the lead role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast, and playing Angel Applewood from PQA’s own musical ‘The Lazy Ace’ on a West End Stage. Since leaving The Pauline Quirke Academy, I have started teaching at PQA Southport as Musical Theatre teaching assistant, where I help to teach children aged 4-18 singing, acting and dancing. Most recently, I have also started assisting teaching Poppets along side main academy in PQA, which are the under 4’s of the academy, introducing them to performing arts.
